Tournament

St Albans Go Club is proud to present its second Go Tournament to be held on Saturday 24th March 2012 in Welwyn Garden City Bridge Club room, Gosling Stadium, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 6XE by kind arrangement of Welwyn Garden City Bridge Club.

Format

Format will be 3-round McMahon with 60 minutes main time, and 20 stones in 5 minutes overtime.

Fees

Please note this is subject to change!

Fee will be £12 per player (concessions £9). In addition each entrant will have to pay £1.70 fee to the sports centre at the entrance. There will be a £3 surcharge for non-BGA members and a further £5 surcharge to those entering after 14th March.

Prizes

We are grateful to Alexandre Dinerchtein for again kindly providing the prizes for this tournament.

The overall winner will receive a month's free subscription to Alexandre Dinerchtein's Insei League. All winners of 3 games will receive a month's free subscription to the Insei League room on KGS.

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided in the playing area until 12 noon.

After this, tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks will be available from the bar adjacent to the Bridge Room from about 12 noon and until the end of the day.

Lunch

A "finger buffet" lunch will be provided by the Sports Centre at a cost of £8 per head. Please specify at the time of booking that you require this. Please let us know in good time, no later than 14th March, that you will be requiring lunch as we have to give firm numbers by then.

Dinner

All those who wish to stay for dinner are invited to join us at around 19:30 at the "Ask" Italian restaurant in the centre of town.

Please specify when booking that you wish to come.

We will be joined by some of the Bridge Club members who have made the tournament possible so please can all who can possibly do so show our appreciation by joining us!

Travel

The Gosling Stadium is close to Junction 4 of the A1(M) motorway, just North of the Hatfield Tunnel.

There are about 4 trains an hour into and out of London to Welwyn Garden City station.

The line also serves Cambridge directly and with a single change at Stevenage serves various destinations further North.

The Gosling Stadium and sports park is due South of the centre of Welwyn Garden City, about 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the train station. Various buses also visit the station and the Stadium.

There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the building where the tournament will be held.
